My Blogging Journey

I started blogging mid of May 2010. Scoop and Snap is not the original name of my blogsite. It was Charms Around. This blog became my baby for a year before I decided to buy my own domain. Later on , I venture on creating another 2 blogs of different niche.

Why do I blog? Well, better to say my thoughts in writing than loose my sanity of doing nothing. Plus, what will I do with loads of photographs my husband and I have taken during our trips here and there? Better share them, right?

Scoop and Snap is basically a travel and photography blog. The name of my blog says it all, "there's a scoop in every snap".  I try to the best of my ability to share the story behind every picture I shot. If words don't come out so easily, well, I will just let the picture do the talking. Just like my first blog post, Powerscourt Gardens

As I mentioned above, I registered two more domains to feature two different niche that I love 1] food (Luto Ni Nanay) and 2] health (Pinoy Pharmacists). The food blog is my kitchen adventure and love for food. While the health blog is sharing what I know on health and medicines as a Pharmacist as well as reconnecting to all Filipino Pharmacists worldwide. The positive feedbacks I received from my readers inspire me to keep going until now (even if I'm not very active recently).

Another Dream Come True

11:15 AM 0 Comments

" A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep."  You bet it is but I'm glad mine came true just recently.

I'm a year older last month and I'm blessed to celebrate it somewhere else with my husband and my little girl. Yes, we spent days at Disneyland Anaheim and it was truly magical. Our little escapade started at our bedroom. Look at the picture below. The headboard says it all especially when you turn on the switch. When I saw it, I almost cry and sing with the lovely soft sound coming from it.

Believe me, I have more pictures to share with you. But for now, let me leave you with this marvellous snap of our room for 9 days.

Mesmerising View and Sound

Traveling constitutes the idea of seeing the other side of the world, enjoying it and making memories every single minute of it especially when you are sharing it with your love ones.

Our recent trip was at Disneyland Park Anaheim, Los Angeles. We thought at first that it was not a good idea for our 32 months old girl. But everything turned to her way. Okay not all rides are for her but there are plenty of good ones that brought flawless smile and laughter in the air. The joy and the excitement grew with every ride and attraction.

Thank you to the gift of technology to capture sceneries that I may not see again and sounds that I may not hear again. We were so delighted that we got every moment using our cameras. (Good thing selfies and groupies are not so awkward nowadays. 😉) And hey, Disneyland now have photographers posted in different beautiful spots to take picture of you and your family and friends. Those shots are uploaded directly to your online account by scanning your Disney Photo Card. It's free to view but can be printed for a good price.

Happiest Place On Earth

8:59 PM 0 Comments

It was a great privilege for me to see a place that I always dreamed of. Big thanks to my husband who considered giving me a marvellous time all my life.

Words are not enough to describe how I felt the day I step my foot on Disneyland Paris. My whole body is like a overloaded with different harmonic content, full of joy, full of excitement and full of gratefulness. That was year 2010. This year, I am so excited to see    this place that they called "Happiest place on earth" again in City of Angels. What trills me more this time is that we're travelling with our little adventurer. It is going to be a wonderful trip. I really can't wait. :)

Disneyland Paris
Thank God for all the provisions and we're praying for safe journey and wonderful time on our next travel. How about you, we're are heading this summer?

Animals on Spot Light

3:30 PM 0 Comments
Do you love going to zoo? I do and so as my husband and our toddler.
Our favourite spots in Dublin Zoo are the African Savanna, Kasiranga Forest Trail, Orangutan Forest and the Reptile House.

In Reptile House, the bearded dragon below is always stealing the spot light every time we go there. Look how he/she posed for the viewer. Little snobbish yet fierce. My husband loves to have one for pet. I am not very sure about that but let us see.

Bearded Dragon at Reptile House in Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo is one big place to roam around in just one day, especially if you intend to observe more than one animal. So at one point, we decided to get an annual pass to visit the animals as often as we want. We live just near by, so it is very convenient for us to go there every now and then.

An Individual Annual Pass costs €120.00 and a Family Annual Pass costs €180 . In our case our toddler is under 3 years old so she is free to go. So we just bought the Individual Annual Pass which is entitle to tag along 1 adult or 2 children. Other benefit of having an annual pass is the pass holder and guess as stated above gain free admission to

Daily Tickets can be purchased online to avoid long queue especially on summer and other school breaks. Although, I tell you, Dublin Zoo is pretty much popular all year round. So to prevent disappointment, plan your visit.

Kia Ora Mini Farm (Gorey, Wexford)

"I know this blog entry has taken a very long time to be posted. Given with so many things that happened over the past four months (which I will not bore you with the details), I hope I am not to late to take you to the place that will surely win your hearts this coming Easter. "

In the light of my daughter's recent obsession with animals, visiting a mini farm sounds an awesome idea to end the summer. So off we go...

The farm is called Kia Ora Mini Farm. It is located at Courteencurragh, Gorey, Co. Wexford. It was an hour drive from our place. But it was a good relaxing travel for me, my husband and most especially for our little miss. She just don't stopped singing "Old Mac Donalds"until she fell asleep  half way through.

We arrived on our destination past 10 o'clock in the morning. After seeing the clean and inviting path to the entrance door, I immediately told myself , "This farm sure look inviting, relaxing and clean." Even the flower pots lined up on the sides are pulling us to get inside and enjoy the rest of the day.

Entry Passage of Kia Ora Mini Farm

Okay, Let's Get Started

We lead ourselves to a small door. The staffs were busy decorating for halloween. They really have scary and cute frills all around the coffee shop. I can't wait to see everything around.

Here's a welcoming owl at the till.

Moving on. The admission fee is €7.50 per person (adult and child). Believe me, this is all worth it with everything to enjoy in the farm. They have a lovely and spacious picnic area. While sipping your tea, your kiddo can play around safely. By the way, you can freely bring your food inside the farm and have a wonderful picnic with your family. In fact, you can even eat your own food inside the coffee shop if you want to or if weather is not so good to eat outside.

Milking Cow Shed and Small Animals

A well-maintained petting area was our next stop. I never hesitated to tell my curious little girl to try petting a bunny and cat. I'm glad she enjoyed it.

I think this chipmunk was begging us to pet him, don't you think? Though, we settled playing with him inside the cage. Our curious girl lose her interest on him when she saw a blackboard and the milking cow.

A parrot in the shed did not talk when we were there but did a lot of curling and twisting, seemed like showing off. He did a good job because I cannot take my eyes of his colourful feathers. And there are plenty more beautiful birds around.

Photoshoot with Large Animals

If you want to be up close to different large animals, this is a good place to visit. They are pretty friendly too. I don't think you are allowed to give them food but I think there are staffs around who can help you with that.

Watching Peafowl

Peahen and Peachicks

Duck and Bird Watching at the Pond and at the Bird Pens

To end our trip we then took a ride on the a real fire truck which plays nursery rhymes to cheer up the little ones and old alike.  You will sure be singing and dancing to the beats. It is just like hanging out in a music gig with musician friends.com .

Of course, that day was to cheer up our little princess. So as you can see below, it was a pretty busy day for her. It was so fun that we did not want to finish the trip. Well, we can always come back especially this coming Easter 2017 as they have so many fun activities set up.

I heard that the Easter Bunny will be there the whole day to make sure that all kids will have their own chocolate.

Busy as a bee

Never run out of things to do.
