Pumpkin Carving 2013

Last Halloween, hubby requested me to carve a pumpkin for the competition in their office. I am not really artistic but I can work things out after seriously studying stuffs. With the inspiration I got somewhere, I gathered my kitchen knife, my set of art knives, pencil, teaspoon, old newspapers and of course a good size pumpkin.

Pumpkin Carving

The design we decided to join in this year's competition was the famous cartoon character, Spongebob. I was not sure that I'll be able to finish it since my tools were not enough. It was hard to make various size of circles around the pumpkin but I can't skip them because those are essential in channelling out the light. With the encouragement coming from my better half, I finally finished the task around 1 am. By the way, I started at 9 pm.

Jack-O'-Lantern: Spongebob

According to my husband, it was so popular. His co-workers and competitors took picture of it. They intend to show it to their kids. I was so delighted to hear that.

Although, we didn't won the first place, still we were pleased for landing on third place. We were not actually expecting it. Hubby was surprised to receive an email from the event organizer telling him to claim the prizes. He brought home a very nice umbrella and a baseball cap.

Our Competitors

We only joined for fun but being appreciated for something you worked so hard for really felt so good.

Colosseum: Gladiators' Battleground

I can't forget the moment I stepped on the ground of this historic Flavian Amphitheatre. I thought I'm hearing the loud voices of spectators around the arena whose watching gladiators fight for their lives.  Colosseum was constructed 70-72AD. It is found at the heart of Piazza del Colosseo (Rome, Italy). The seating capacity of this elliptical amphitheatre is 50,000 spectators. Imagine how big is the place? This place is one of the popular tourist spots in Rome. I suggest that if you plan to go there, book your tickets online. This is to avoid the long queue and the big disappointment of not getting inside.  Colosseum admission fee: Full ticket - €18.00 EU reduced ticket - €13.50 (available only for European citizens aged between 18 and 25)  EU complimentary ticket- €6.00 (available only for EU citizens aged above 65 and under 18) Opening hours: Mid February - mid March: 9 AM - 4.30 PM Mid March - end March: 9 AM - 5.00 PM End March - end August: 9 AM - 7.00 PM

Seeing the Other Side of the World

I've been living here in Ireland for nearly five years now. I never thought I will be given a chance to the other side of the world. When I decided to come with my husband here, I carried a special joy in my heart because I know my life will change according to God's will.

Love and Marriage

Being married for more than thirteen years does not make me an expert to relationship and family. But it is certain that those years made me the better person I am now and I hope that it is the same with my husband. I personally believe that keeping your marriage healthy, sparkling and smooth boils down to open communication and plain understanding. Aside from these two factors, there are other ways to keep you tied up to the man or woman you say "I Do". According to  Merriam- Webster  Dictionary, "Marriage is  the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law". But it is actually more than that. Time, effort, love, affection, acceptance, faithfulness and sincerity goes with marriage. If you are just starting a wonderful married life and you want to keep it till you are both old, you may want to consider the following ways to keep your happy lives together. Put Jesus Christ in
